Steps of Creating an Online Shop with Shopify and WordPress:

Step 1: Start a Website on WordPress

Firstly, register a domain name for your WordPress site. A domain name is the identity of your website. It’s the name with which your visitors will recognize you. Then you need to signup for a host. Now, what is the host? The host is the space you need on the internet. There are several types of hosts; you can choose your one as per your business size. You can use Bluehost for both domain and host.

 After registering the domain name and signup for the host, Bluehost (or any other provider you choose) will give you a One-click WordPress Install option. You can choose themes, plugins for your site from the huge collection of WordPress themes & plugins.

Step 2: Set up your Shopify store

Creating Shopify Account:

You might be created your WordPress site already, so it’s time to integrate Shopify now. To do so, open the Shopify site and get started. On the homepage, you will see the Start free trial, click on that button.

After you click on the Start free trial button and you will see a sign-up screen asking you to fill in your email address, password, and name for your store. Fill them up and press the Create your store button.

On the next page, Shopify will ask you some questions to know you and your need better. Click on the dropdown arrow to choose your answers to the questions and click Next.

After that, you’ll be requested to fill in your name, address, phone number, and website address. Click on the Enter my store button at the bottom of the form once you are done answering those questions.

Then, you’ll be redirected to the home page of your Shopify account. Your Shopify store is now ready for you.

Choosing Shopify Pricing Plan:

As you have configured your Shopify account, now you need to select a pricing plan.  Shopify offers three different pricing options with additional features within $29 to $299 per month.

To select your plan, click on the ‘Select a plan button’ at the bottom of your screen and then click the ‘Choose this plan’ button on your preferable plan.

After that enter your credit card information and press the Start plan button and get started.

Payment:

If you are selling products you need a way to get payment from your customers. Shopify has an easy way to set up payment on your online shop. So, click on ‘Settings’ in the bottom corner of your home page and then click on ‘Payment’.

By default, your store is ready to accept PayPal payments with Paypal Express Checkout. If you already have a Paypal account set up with the registered email address, you can accept payment instantly. In case you don’t have one, Shopify will send an email with detailed instructions on how to set up a new Paypal merchant account.

If you prefer alternative payment forms such as credit card payment, BitPay, or GoCoin you can choose them. You can also choose additional options such as Apple Pay, Amazon Payments, or choose from a list of Shopify payment options.

Shipping:

Now, you need to set up your shipping option. To do that, click on the Settings option again and then click on Shipping.

As you have added your address previously, Shopify will set up your store address on that origin. But if you want to change the origin you can do that. Just click the Change shipping origin button. You can also define shipping zones and rates for shipping to those locations here.

Step 3: Add products to your Shopify store

If you don’t have products, what you will sell? So, now add your products to your Shopify account. To do so, click on the Products tab in the menu on the right and then click on Add product.

Then, add all the information about your product like the title of the product, image, description, price Etc. Once you have finished filling in all of the details for your product, click the Save button.

Repeat the process for all of your products.

Step 4: Activate and customize Shopify Buy Button

As you created a WordPress site and settled up your Shopify account, now you can integrate your Shopify store with your WordPress site. For that, you need to activate Buy Button.

To add the Buy Button sales channel, click on Settings and then click on the Sales channels button.

Click on the Add sales channel button on the top, you’ll see a list of available sales channels there. Scroll down to check the Buy Button channel and click the blue ‘+’ button to install.

After installing the Buy Button sales channel, click on the ‘Create Buy Button’ button.

Now, pick the product you want to create a buy button for and click the ‘Select product’ button.

You can configure the look of your Buy Button by choosing a template, customizing the button color and text, and the action that happens when a customer clicks the button. Once you’re finished customizing the button, click the Next button to generate your Buy Button code.

Step 5: Add Shopify Buy Button to your WordPress site

This step is to copy the Buy Button code and paste it to your WordPress site.  Click the Copy Code button and copy the code you just generated for that product.

Now, paste it anywhere on your website where you want your Buy Button to appear. Don’t forget to add the name of the page/post for the specific product code.
