When you install dummy data you are basically adding sample products, categories, attributes, and reviews to your store. Now, you might be thinking about how to add dummy data?! How to Add Dummy Data in Woocommerce:

Adding dummy data to your WooCommerce store is very easy. Just follow the below step and you will be able to do it.

Step 1:

We assume you already installed Woocommerce. So, you can see two new menus in your menubar. Navigate to Product > All Products and click Start Import on that page.

Step 2:

When you click on Start Import, it will redirect you to the product importer page. You need to click on the Advanced Options link there to expand the settings.

Step 3:

Now, you can copy and paste the URL path of the CSV file that comes with the WooCommerce plugin, on the box.

This URL goes directly to the dummy product data that comes with the plugin. This is the easiest and quickest method to add the sample data.

Click on the Continue button to go to the next step.

N.B: If you want to add the CSV file of dummy data from your computer then click on ‘Choose file’ and upload the file. After uploading the CSV file, you will be prompted to choose how to map the data to the product fields in WooCommerce.

Step 4:

On this page leave all the settings as the defaults, scroll down and click on the Run the importer button at the right corner.

Step 5:

Once you click on Run the importer, the importing starts. The importing process may take a few minutes. Import Completed message will be shown on the screen once the process is completed.

Click on the View products button to see all the imported dummy products.

You are done adding dummy products. You can edit, preview, and delete the products from here.

Create Dummy Orders in Woocommerce:

If you want to check how order options work on the WooCommerce plugin, you need some dummy orders. But the WooCommerce plugin doesn’t come with dummy orders as dummy products. You can create your own dummy orders with the dummy products.

Go to WooCommerce > Settings and then click on the Payments tab.  Enable the Cash on delivery payment option and click the Save Changes button.

Then, you need to visit the WooCommerce > Orders > Add Order page to create orders. You can select the item, payment status, add billing address, shipping address Etc there.

You can create as much order as you want. Go to WooCommerce > Order to check the order list.

Delete All Dummy Products and Orders:

After you finish checking dummy products and orders, you might want to delete those dummy products and orders.

To delete the dummy orders, go to WooCommerce > Orders, then select the orders and use the Bulk actions menu to move them all to the trash. Select the Move to Trash option from the drop-down and click on the Apply button.

To delete dummy products, go to Products > All products, then select the products. Now, again use the Bulk actions menu to move them all to the trash. Select the Move to Trash option from the drop-down and click on the Apply button.
